Small, in-person reading groups focused on a single book, meeting weekly over 4–8 weeks.
These groups grow out of my background in Comparative Literature at Columbia, and are shaped by the close, discussion-based seminar model.
Since 2024, Close Reading NYC has brought together 130+ readers across eight multi-week reading cohorts, with many participants returning for multiple groups over time.
For people who are interested in literature and want structure, focus, and thoughtful conversation without homework, grades, or academic jargon.
No prior background in literature is required, just a willingness to read attentively and engage with curiosity.
